In this connection, it is encouraging that UNDP, taking into account the link between peace and development, is setting up, with the support of relevant departments in the Secretariat, a programme for coordination and assistance on security and development, which will be carried out under the auspices of the Lomé Centre and will provide the Centre with sufficient resources to elaborate and implement its programme of work.
٢٢ - وفي هذا الصدد، فإن مما يشجع أن برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي، إدراكا للصلة بين السلم والتنمية، يقوم بدعم من اﻹدارات ذات الصلة في اﻷمانة العامة، بوضع برنامج للتنسيق والمساعدة بشأن اﻷمن والتنمية، سينفذ برعاية مركز لومي وسيزود المركز بالموارد الكافية لوضع وتنفيذ برنامج عمله.

While thanking those countries that have pledged and made voluntary contributions to the Lomé Centre, I should like to take this opportunity to request all the other Member States and all men of good will to consider now contributing, in whatever way possible, to the collective effort to revitalize these Centres.
