On 18 December 1998, the United Nations General Assembly took note of this change in its decision 53/453 and decided to transfer to la Francophonie the Observer status with the Assembly which it had granted to ACTC in its resolution 33/18 of 10 November 1978.
وقد أحاطت الجمعية العامة علما بهذا التحول في مقررها ٥٣/٤٥٣ المؤرخ ١٨ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨، وقررت منح المنظمة الدولية للجماعة الفرانكوفونية صفة المراقب التي كانت قد اعترفت بها لوكالة التعاون الثقافي والتقني في قرارها ٣٣/١٨ المؤرخ ١٠ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٧٨.
