The Committee expresses its appreciation to the State party for accepting the optional reporting procedure and for having submitted its periodic report under it, as it improves the cooperation between the State party and the Committee and focuses on the examination of the report as well as the dialogue with the delegation.

Along these lines, it decided, inter alia, that it will continue to evaluate the optional reporting procedure and to encourage States parties to report under the procedure, including in its concluding observations.

2- تشيد اللجنة بالدولة الطرف لقبولها الإجراء الاختياري لإعداد التقارير ولتقديمها في إطاره تقريرها الدوري الثالث (CAT/C/LTU/Q/3) في موعده، لأنه يحسِّن مستوى التعاون بين الدولة الطرف واللجنة ويركز على النظر في التقرير وعلى الحوار مع الوفد.

The Committee was also informed that the optional reporting procedure consists of remitting a list of issues to States parties prior to the submission of their reports to the Committee against Torture, thus eliminating the list of issues after the report is submitted as well as responses from States parties, which reduces the time and costs of reporting.
