Such State shall immediately make a preliminary inquiry, in accordance with its own laws (article 9 of the Polish draft combined with article 4, paragraph 1, of the United States draft).

2. States Parties shall cooperate in the establishment and implementation of their respective witness protection programmes, including the protection of witness families, in particular by creating the possibility of the settlement of a foreign protected witness in their territories (article 13 of the Polish draft).
٢- تتعاون الدول اﻷطراف في إنشاء وتنفيذ برامجها لحماية الشهود، بما في ذلك حماية أسر الشهود. وبخاصة من خلال تهيئة إمكانية توطين شاهد أجنبي مشمول بالحماية في أقاليمها )المادة ٣١ من المشروع البولندي(.

Such suggestions and general recommendations shall be transmitted to any State Party concerned and reported to the Economic and Social Council, together with comments, if any, from the States Parties (article 16 of the Polish draft).

2. For each State Party ratifying, accepting, approving or acceding to the Convention after the deposit of the twentieth instrument of such action, the Convention shall enter into force on the thirtieth day after the deposit by such State of that relevant instrument (article 19 of the Polish draft).
٢- يبدأ نفاذ هذه الاتفاقية بالنسبة إلى كل دولة طرف تصدق على الاتفاقية أو تقبلها أو توافق عليها أو تنضم إليها بعد إيداع الصك العشرين من صكوك هذه اﻹجراءات في اليوم الثلاثين من إيداع هذه الدولة لذلك الصك ذي الصلة )المادة ٩١ من المشروع البولندي(.

3. When an amendment enters into force, it shall be binding on those States Parties which have accepted it, other States Parties still being bound by the provisions of the present Convention and any earlier amendments which they have accepted (article 20 of the Polish draft).
٣- متى بدأ نفاذ أي تعديل فإنه يصبح ملزما للدول اﻷطراف التي قبلته. وتظل الدول اﻷطراف اﻷخرى ملزمة بأحكام هذه الاتفاقية وبأي تعديلات سابقة تكون قد قبلتها )المادة ٠٢ من المشروع البولندي(.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned plenipotentiaries, being duly authorized thereto by their respective Governments, have signed the present Convention (article 24 of the Polish draft).
وإثباتا لما تقدم قام المفوضون الموقعون أدناه، المخولون حسب اﻷصول من جانب حكوماتهم، بالتوقيع على الاتفاقية )المادة ٤٢ من المشروع البولندي(.

1. Each State Party shall make punishable acts consisting of participation in or association with an organized crime group whose purpose it is to commit offences (article 2, paragraph 2, of the Polish draft).
١- على كل دولة من الدول اﻷطراف أن توجب العقاب على اﻷعمال التي تنطوي على الاشتراك في جماعة إجرامية يكون الغرض منها هو ارتكاب الجرائم أو الارتباط بمثل هذه الجماعة )الفقرة ٢ من المادة ٢ من المشروع البولندي(.

1. Each State Party shall consider establishing in its domestic penal legislation the possibility of criminal liability of corporate persons who derive profits from organized crime or function as a cover for the criminal organization (article 3 of the Polish draft).
١- تنظر كل دولة طرف في أن تدرج في تشريعاتها الجنائية الداخلية إمكانية تحميل المسؤولية الجنائية للشخصيات الاعتبارية التي تجني أرباحا من الجريمة المنظمة أو التي تعمل كغطاء لمنظمة إجرامية )المادة ٣ من المشروع البولندي(.
