El Salvador was pleased to have chaired the Working Group on Lessons Learned, and hoped that the report of its work would be useful to the Commission in its important task of alleviating the suffering of populations emerging from conflict and seeking to live peacefully and productively together.

The Ad Hoc group of Experts on the Reporting of Data that was then established identified in the report of its first meeting (Nairobi, 6 and 7 December 1990) a number of trade-related issues that were problematic in terms of data reporting and adopted corresponding recommendations.
