وإذ يساورها القلق إزاء التأثير السلبي الذي ما فتئ انتشار واستخدام تلك الأسلحة بصورة غير مشروعة يخلفه على جهود الدول في منطقة الساحل الصحراوي دون الإقليمية في مجالات القضاء على الفقر، والتنمية المستدامة، وصون السلام والأمن والاستقرار،

The illicit proliferation in small arms in sub-Saharan Africa in general and in the Sahelo-Saharan subregion in particular is today a sad reality, nurtured, inter alia, by the emergence of many internal conflicts throughout the continent.
إن الانتشار غير المشروع لﻷسلحــة الخفيفــة في منطقة افريقيا دون الصحراء بصفة عامة، وفي المنطقة الصحراوية الساحلية دون اﻹقليمية بصفة خاصة، يشكل اليوم حقيقة محزنة تغذيها جملة أمور منها نشوب كثير من الصراعات الداخلية في جميع أنحاء القارة.

وإذ يساورها القلق إزاء التأثير السلبي الذي ما فتئ انتشار واستخدام تلك الأسلحة بصورة غير مشروعة يخلفه على جهود الدول في منطقة الساحل والصحراء دون الإقليمية في مجالات القضاء على الفقر وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة وصون السلام والأمن والاستقرار،

2. Encourages the establishment in the countries of the Sahelo-Saharan subregion of national commissions to combat the illicit proliferation of small arms, and invites the international community to lend its support wherever possible to ensure the smooth functioning of the commissions;
2 - تشجع إنشاء لجان وطنية في بلدان منطقة الساحل الصحراوي دون الإقليمية لمكافحة انتشار الأسلحة الصغيرة، وتدعو المجتمع الدولي إلى تقديم الدعم الممكن بما يكفل أداء تلك اللجان الوطنية لعملها أداء سلسا؛

4. Encourages the countries of the Sahelo-Saharan subregion to facilitate the effective functioning of national commissions to combat the illicit proliferation of small arms and light weapons, and, in that regard, invites the international community to lend its support wherever possible;
4 - تشجع بلدان منطقة الساحل الصحراوي دون الإقليمية على تسهيل سير عمل اللجان الوطنية بفعالية من أجل مكافحة الانتشار غير المشروع للأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة، وفي هذا الصدد تدعو المجتمع الدولي إلى تقديم دعمه حيثما أمكن ذلك؛

3. Encourages the establishment in the countries of the Sahelo-Saharan subregion of national commissions to combat the illicit proliferation of small arms, and invites the international community to lend its support wherever possible to ensure the smooth functioning of the commissions;
3 - تشجع إنشاء لجان وطنية في بلدان منطقة الساحل الصحراوي دون الإقليمية لمكافحة انتشار الأسلحة الصغيرة غير المشروع، وتدعو المجتمع الدولي إلى تقديم الدعم أينما أمكن ذلك لكفالة أداء اللجان لعملها أداء سلسا؛
