2- وإذا أسفر الاقتراع الثاني عن نتيجة غير حاسمة وكان المطلوب هو الحصول على أغلبية من أصوات الأعضاء الحاضرين، بجري اقتراع ثالث يجوز التصويت فيه لأي مرشح مؤهل للانتخاب.

2. If the second ballot is inconclusive and a majority vote of members is required, a third ballot shall be taken in which votes may be cast for any eligible candidate.
2- وإذا أسفر الاقتراع الثاني عن نتيجة غير حاسمة وكان المطلوب هو الحصول على أغلبية من أصوات الأعضاء، يجري اقتراع ثالث يجوز التصويت فيه لأي مرشح مؤهل للانتخاب.

3. If the second ballot is inconclusive and a twothirds majority is required, the balloting shall be continued until one candidate secures the necessary twothirds majority.
3- وإذا أسفر الاقتراع الثاني عن نتيجة غير حاسمة وكانت أغلبية الثلثين، مطلوبة، يتواصل الاقتراع حتى يحصل مرشح واحد على أغلبية الثلثين المطلوبة.

3. If the second ballot is inconclusive and a twothirds majority is required, the balloting shall be continued until one candidate secures the necessary twothirds majority.
3- وإذا أسفر اقتراع ثانٍ عن نتيجة غير حاسمة وكانت أغلبية الثلثين مطلوبة، يتواصل الاقتراع حتى يحصل مرشح واحد على أغلبية الثلثين المطلوبة.

The result of the second ballot was inconclusive.
وكانت نتيجة التصويت الثاني غير قاطعة.

Since, after the second ballot, no candidate had received the required majority of votes, the Council had to proceed to a third ballot for the remaining vacancy, in accordance with rule 61 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure.
وبما أن جولة الاقتراع الثانية لم تسفر عن حصول أي مرشح على أغلبية اﻷصــوات اللازمة اضطر المجلس إلى إجراء جولة اقتراع ثالثة لملء الشاغر المتبقي، وفقا للمادة ١٦ من النظام الداخلي المؤقت للمجلس.
