The present addendum to the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims includes information provided by Argentina and Guatemala regarding activities carried out and events organized in their respective countries in connection with the commemoration of the International Day.

13. The report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (A/61/308) linked the lack of rights to the persistence of poverty.

At its 89th plenary meeting, on 19 December 2011, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Third Committee, took note of the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims.
