The fiftyeighth session of the Commission on Human Rights marks the tenth anniversary of the Commission's involvement with the issue of internal displacement which began in earnest in 1992 with the establishment of the mandate of the Representative of the SecretaryGeneral on internally displaced persons in Commission resolution 1992/73.
