2. This report contains updates with additional information to the note by the Secretariat on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan (E/CN.4/2004/118) submitted to the Commission on Human Rights in 2004.

85. Mr. Meredov (Turkmenistan), referring to the draft resolution on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan, said that his country placed the highest value on the rights of the individual and had made continuous progress in guaranteeing human rights for its citizens.
85 - السيد ميريدوف (تركمانستان) أشار إلى مشروع القرار بشأن حالة حقوق الإنسان في تركمانستان قائلا إن بلده يعطي قيمة كبيرة لحقوق الفرد وأن بلده أحرز تقدما مستمرا في كفالة حقوق الإنسان لمواطنيه.

The Secretary-General's report on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan (A/61/489) concluded that gross and systematic violations of human rights had continued in the country, notwithstanding gestures made by the Government.
وأضاف أن تقرير الأمين العام عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في تركمانستان (A/61/489) خلص إلى أن انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان مستمرة بصفة منتظمة في هذا البلد، بصرف النظر عن الإشارات الصادرة عن الحكومة بانتهائها.

19. Lastly, the Secretary-General's report on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan (A/60/367) built on a note by the secretariat submitted in 2004 to the Commission on Human Rights on the same subject (E/CN.4/2004/118).

Welcoming the report of September 2005 of the Secretary-General on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan, which concludes that while the Government of Turkmenistan has made some progress in addressing human rights issues and has shown readiness to cooperate with the international community, there was a lack of overall improvement in addressing serious human rights violations,
وإذ ترحب بتقرير الأمين العام الصادر في أيلول/سبتمبر 2005 عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في تركمانستان()، الذي خلص إلى أنه على الرغم مما أحرزته حكومة تركمانستان من تقدم في معالجة القضايا المتصلة بحقوق الإنسان وما أبدته من استعداد للتعاون مع المجتمع الدولي، فليس هناك تحسن بوجه عام في التصدي للانتهاكات الخطيرة لحقوق الإنسان،

24. Please comment on the actual access to employment of minority women in the light of the concern about discrimination against ethnic Russian, Uzbek and other minorities in the fields of education and employment expressed by the Commission on Human Rights in its resolutions 2003/11 and 2004/12 on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan and resolution 59/206 of the General Assembly on the situation of human rights in Turkmenistan.
24 - ويرجى التعليق على مدى إمكانية حصول نساء الأقليات فعليا على العمل في ضوء القلق إزاء التمييز ضد الجماعات العرقية الروسية والأوزبكية وغيرها من الأقليات في مجالات التعليم والعمل الذي أعربت عنه لجنة حقوق الإنسان في قراريها 2003/11 و 2004/12 عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في تركمانستان وفي قرار الجمعية العامة 59/206 عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في تركمانستان.
