In pursuance of that request, the Secretary—General is transmitting to the Commission on Human Rights his note A/52/56, to which is annexed the final report of the Special Rapporteur of the Commission for Social Development on monitoring the implementation of the Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.

Welcomes the establishment of a working group, following the decision of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, with the aim of elaborating a plan of action on children with disabilities, in close cooperation with the Special Rapporteur of the Commission for Social Development on disability and other relevant parts of the United Nations system; See CRC/C/84, paras. 219-222.
