132. In its resolution 1997/22, the Commission decided to invite the Chairman of the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session to report to the Commission at its fifty-fourth session on significant aspects of the work of the Sub-Commission.
٢٣١- وقد قررت اللجنة، في قرارها ٧٩٩١/٢٢، أن تدعو رئيس اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين إلى تقديم تقرير إلى لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين عن الجوانب الهامة لعمل اللجنة الفرعية.

The working paper (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/17) was submitted to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session.

2. Requests the Special Rapporteur to submit her final report to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session in conformity with the plan contained in her working paper (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1995/38);

While there is preliminary information about the widespread occurrence of systematic rape, sexual slavery and slavery-like practices during periods of armed conflict, a more thorough and comprehensive study is required, which will be submitted by the Special Rapporteur in her final report to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session.

121. The attention of the Commission is also drawn to resolution 1997/5 adopted by the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session (see E/CN.4/1998/2-E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/50, chap. II).

44. In discussing this item, the Sub-Commission may also wish to take into account the following resolutions and decisions adopted by the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session, by the General Assembly at its fifty—second session, and by the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-fourth session:

Requests the Secretary-General to invite all States to inform the working group of measures adopted to implement the Programme of Action for the Prevention of the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography and to submit a report thereon to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session and to the Commission at its fifty-fourth session;

(b) To submit a report on the information gathered to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session, together with any recommendations and views which he may have received on effective ways and means of eliminating such weapons;

24. The members of the Sub-Commission are invited to consider the present report, with a view to proposing further elements that could enhance the drafting of guidelines on international events and forced evictions for the consideration of the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session.

8. However, in preparing his tenth annual report for submission to the Sub-Commission at its forty-ninth session, the Special Rapporteur will draw a more distinct line between the countries and territories in which emergency measures were taken at various times in the period since 1 January 1985 and those in which the state of emergency is currently in force.
