20. At its 1429th meeting, by adopting the suggestions relating to the organization of its work put forward by the Chairman (A/AC.109/L.1811), the Special Committee decided, inter alia, to maintain its Working Group, which would continue to function as a steering committee, and the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance.

39. At its 1412th meeting, on 10 February, the Special Committee decided to maintain the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance consisting of the entire membership of the Committee.
٣٩ - قررت اللجنة الخاصة، في جلستها ١٤١٢، المعقودة في ١٠ شباط/فبراير، اﻹبقاء على اللجنة الفرعية المعنية باﻷقاليم الصغيرة والالتماسات والمعلومات والمساعدة وتتألف من أعضاء اللجنة الخاصة جميعهم.

That problem could be partially solved through a reprogramming of existing resources, such as the possibility of reviewing the relevance of the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance.

By organizing its programme of work effectively, holding extensive consultations and having integrated the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance, the Committee had been able to curtail considerably the number of its formal meetings.

1. Approves the report of the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance relating to American Samoa, Anguilla, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guam, Montserrat, Tokelau, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the United States Virgin Islands;

227. The Special Committee also had before it the report of the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance containing an account of its consideration of the Territories (A/AC.109/L.1843).

104. In an effort to streamline its work further, early in its 1997 session, the Special Committee implemented its decision to integrate the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance into the Special Committee.

35. At its 1441st meeting, on 27 February, the Special Committee decided to maintain the Subcommittee on Small Territories, Petitions, Information and Assistance, consisting of the entire membership of the Committee.
