Under article 5 of the Convention, States parties are under an obligation to eliminate customary practices based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes.
وبموجب المادة 5 من الاتفاقية تلتزم الدول الأطراف بالقضاء على الممارسات العرفية القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين.

The efforts to do away with every remnant of sex inequality have been ceaselessly intensified for half a century since then, whereby the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or the stereotyped roles for men and women have nearly been eliminated and the discrimination based on the outmoded customs is no longer a big issue of social concern.
وكثفت بلا انقطاع الجهود الرامية إلى استئصال كل بقايا عدم المساواة بين الجنسين لمدة نصف قرن بعد ذلك ، وبذلك قضي تقريبا على فكرة تدني أو تفوق أحد الجنسين وعلى الأدوار المقولبة للرجل والمرأة، ولم يعد التمييز القائم على العادات التي ولى زمانها مشكلة كبيرة تثير قلقا اجتماعيا.

85. Turkmenistan is taking all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
85- تتخذ تركمانستان جميع التدابير المناسبة لتعديل الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة لتحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة.

Article 5 (a) elaborates on this duty by explaining that States parties agree to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
وتتوسع المادة ٥ )أ( في شرح هذا الواجب بأن توضح أن الدول اﻷطراف تتفق على تعديل اﻷنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة بهدف القضاء الفعلي على أوجه التعصب واﻷعراف وسائر الممارسات اﻷخرى القائمة على نقص أو تفوق أي من الجنسين أو على تنميط دوري الرجل والمرأة.

(a) To modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women;
)أ( تعديل أنماط السلوك الاجتماعي والثقافي للرجل والمرأة، بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرقية وكل الممارسات اﻷخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين أو على إسناد أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة.

(a) To modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women;
(أ) تعديل الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيُّزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة؛

(a) To modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women;
(أ) تعديل الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة، بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والممارسات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أي من الجنسين أو على تحديد أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة؛

" (b) Take all appropriate measures to eliminate prejudices that are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women and that constitute a barrier to women's access to and participation in the political sphere, and to adopt inclusive approaches to their political participation;
" (ب) اتخاذ جميع التدابير المناسبة للقضاء على ضروب التحامل القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق جنس من الجنسين على الآخر أو على الأدوار النمطية للرجل والمرأة، لما يشكله هذا التحامل من حاجز يحول دون دخول المرأة ميدان العمل السياسي ومشاركتها فيه، وتبني نُهُج غير إقصائية نحو تحقيق المشاركة السياسية للمرأة؛
