In line with the " two-track " approach endorsed by the General Assembly in its resolution 58/248 of 23 December 2003, drafting of the twelfth Supplement (covering the period 1993-1995) is proceeding concurrently with that of a contemporary, streamlined Millennium Supplement (covering the period 2000-2003).

In line with the " two-track " approach referred to in last year's report (A/58/347), work was initiated on a contemporary Millennium Supplement, covering the period 2000-2003 as drafting of the twelfth Supplement (1993-1995) continues and work begins on covering the remaining gap period, 1996-1999.

With respect to the past practice of the Security Council, following publication of the eleventh Supplement to the Repertoire (1989-1992) and the posting on the website of an advance version of the twelfth Supplement (1993-1995), the Secretariat has been working towards the completion of the thirteenth Supplement (1996-1999).
