٧ - الرئيس: قال إن من الصعب، في المرحلة الراهنة من أعمال اللجنة، أن يحدد تقسيم العمل بدقة بين اللجنتين الرئيسيتين فيما يتعلق بالمادة السابعة. بيد أنه سيوضح هذا الموضوع في أسرع وقت ممكن.

16. The PRESIDENT said that, in accordance with rule 6 of the rules of procedure, the Conference was to elect from among the States parties participating in the Conference 10 VicePresidents of the Conference, as well as the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for each of the two Main Committees, the Drafting Committee and the Credentials Committee.
16- الرئيس قال إنه، وفقاً للمادة 6 من النظام الداخلي، ينتخب المؤتمر، من بين الدول الأطراف المشاركة في المؤتمر، 10 نواب لرئيس المؤتمر، فضلاً عن رئيس ونائب رئيس لكل لجنة من اللجنتين الرئيسيتين ولجنة الصياغة ولجنة وثائق التفويض.

15. At the same plenary meeting, the Conference adopted the Programme of Work (CCW/CONF.IV/3) and decided to distribute its work between the two Main Committees as follows:
15- وفي الجلسة العامة ذاتها، اعتمد المؤتمر برنامج العمل (CCW/CONF.IV/3) وقرر توزيع أعماله بين اللجنتين الرئيسيتين على النحو التالي:

The Group of Governmental Experts had also recommended that agenda items 12 and 13 should be assigned to Main Committee I and item 14 to Main Committee II. The Group had further drawn up and recommended provisional agendas (CCW/CONF.III/4 and 5) and programmes of work (CCW/CONF.III/Add.4 and Add.5) for the two Main Committees.
كما أشار إلى أن فريق الخبراء الحكوميين أوصى بإحالة البندين 12 و13 من جدول الأعمال إلى اللجنة الرئيسية الأولى والبند 14 إلى اللجنة الرئيسية الثانية. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، وضع الفريق جدولي أعمال (CCW/CONF.III/4 و5) وبرنامجي عمل (CCW/CONF.III/7/Add.4 وAdd.5) مؤقتين وأوصى اللجنتين الرئيسيتين بالعمل بهما.

With regard to parts A and B, we would emphasize that the two Main Committees which this plenary has requested to consider three notes and a report need to bear in mind that high priority must be accorded in dealing with them, and that the plenary and its President will continue to play the key guiding role in their work.
فيما يتعلق بالجزأين ألف وباء، نود أن نشدد على أنه ينبغي للجنتين الرئيسيتين اللتين طلبت إليهما هذه الجلسة العامة النظر في ثلاث مذكرات أن تراعيا ضرورة إيلاء أولوية عليا لتناول تلك الوثائق، وأن الجلسة العامة ورئيسها سيواصلان الاضطلاع بالدور التوجيهي الرئيسي في أعمالهما.
