In the draft resolution, the General Assembly affirms once again its support for the aspirations of the peoples under colonial rule to exercise their right to self-determination, including independence, in accordance with relevant resolutions of the United Nations on decolonization.
وتؤكد الجمعية العامة في مشروع القرار مرة أخرى تأييدها لتطلعات الشعوب الواقعة تحت الحكم الاستعماري إلى ممارسة حقها في تقرير المصير، بما فيه الاستقلال، وفقا للقرارات ذات الصلة للأمم المتحدة المتعلقة بإنهاء الاستعمار.

At the same meeting, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran made a statement, wherein he introduced an oral amendment to the draft resolution by which the words " the resolution on decolonization " in the operative paragraph 3 would be replaced by the words " relevant resolutions of the United Nations on decolonization " (see A/AC.109/2000/SR.13).
