In that connection, the Special Committee was especially mindful of the fact that the United Nations Visiting missions had provided an effective means of assessing and ascertaining the wishes and aspirations of the peoples of those Territories regarding their future status.

Mr. Iosefa informed us during his visit to New York in May that the General Fono had set up a working committee on constitutional developments in order to prepare Tokelau's submission to the United Nations Visiting Mission.

7. At the same meeting, the representative of Tunisia, in his capacity as Chairman of the Visiting Mission, introduced the report of the United Nations Visiting Mission to Tokelau, 1994 (see A/AC.109/PV.1440).

٥ - تطلب أيضا إلى الدول القائمة باﻹدارة أن تيسر إيفاد بعثات اﻷمم المتحدة الزائرة إلى اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي بشأن تحديد مركز تلك اﻷقاليم السياسي في المستقبل، وذلك كيما يتسنى للجنة الخاصة أن تستعرض مركز هذه اﻷقاليم وفقا لما يبديه سكان اﻹقليم من رغبات؛

Tokelau welcomed the recommendation of the United Nations Visiting mission to disseminate widely information on the options for self-determination and their practical implications.
وقال إن توكيلاو ترحب بتوصية بعثة الأمم المتحدة الزائرة التي تحث على نشر المعلومات على نطاق واسع بشأن خيارات تقرير المصير وانعكاساتها العملية.
