Noting the important roles that the Commission on the Status of Women and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women have to play in making the general human rights work of the United Nations more gender conscious and in promoting the universal and indivisible human rights of women,
وإذ تلاحظ اﻷدوار الهامة التي يتعين على لجنة مركز المرأة واللجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة القيام بها لجعل عمل اﻷمم المتحدة المتعلق بحقوق اﻹنسان عموما أكثر ادراكا للفروق القائمة بين الجنسين وتعزيز حقوق اﻹنسان العالمية غير القابلة للتجزئة للمرأة،

وإذ تلاحظ اﻷدوار الهامة التي يتعين على لجنة مركز المرأة واللجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة القيام بها لجعل عمل اﻷمم المتحدة المتعلق بحقوق اﻹنسان العامة أكثر وعيا بالجنسين وتعزيز حقوق اﻹنسان العالمية غير القابلة للتجزئة للمرأة،

5. We reaffirm that human rights, the rule of law and democracy are interlinked and mutually reinforcing and that they belong to the universal and indivisible core values and principles of the United Nations.
5 - ونعيد تأكيد أن حقوق الإنسان وسيادة القانون والديمقراطية أمور مترابطة يعزز كل منها الآخر وأنها جزء من قيم الأمم المتحدة ومبادئها الأساسية العالمية غير القابلة للتجزئة.

17. Lastly, the tenth anniversary of the World Conference on Human Rights would be observed in 2003; it was therefore very important for the international community to be resolute in upholding the universal and indivisible values of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
17 - واختتم كلامه قائلا، إنه سيتم إحياء الذكرى السنوية العاشرة للمؤتمر العالمي لحقوق الإنسان في عام 2003؛ لذلك من الهام بالنسبة للمجتمع الدولي أن يوطد العزم على الحفاظ على القيم العالمية وغير القابلة للتجزئة لحقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية.
