33. In its resolution 2001/71 the Commission requested the Sub-Commission to consider what contribution it could make to the reflections of the International Bioethics Committee on the follow-up to the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights.

8. In pursuance of article 24 of the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights, the International Bioethics Committee established a Working Group on the Follow-up of the Declaration in December 1998; the Group submitted its report in 1999.
8- وتطبيقاً للمادة 24 من الإعلان العالمي المتعلق بالمجين البشري وحقوق الإنسان، أنشأت اللجنة الدولية لأخلاقيات علم الأحياء فريق عمل مكلف بمتابعة الإعلان؛ وقدم تقرير الفريق في عام 1999.

1. In its decision 2001/113, the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights requested Ms. Antoanella-Iulia Motoc to prepare a working paper on the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights. This document is submitted in accordance with that decision.

The adoption of the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights by the General Conference, unanimously and by acclamation, on 11 November 1997 at its twenty-ninth session, was the outcome of this initiative.
وقد أسفرت هذه المبادرة عن اعتماد المؤتمر العام للإعلان العالمي بشأن المجين البشري وحقوق الإنسان، في يوم 11 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 1997 في دورته التاسعة والعشرين، بالإجماع وبدون تصويت.
