Subsequently, the Secretariat presented two conference room papers containing further revised versions of the draft terms of reference and draft format and invited the Committee to consider the revised draft decision on the process for the evaluation of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid, its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride for the various acceptable purposes and specific exemptions.

In accordance with paragraph 6 of part III of Annex B to the Convention, the Conference of the Parties will undertake the evaluation of the continued need for PFOS, its salts and PFOSF for the various acceptable purposes and specific exemptions in 2015 at the latest and every four years thereafter, in conjunction with a regular meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

To develop a process to enable the Conference of the Parties to evaluate the continued need for PFOS, its salts and PFOSF for the various acceptable purposes and specific exemptions on the basis of available scientific, technical, environmental and economic information and to report on progress in that regard at the sixth meeting of the Conference of the Parties in accordance with paragraphs 5 and 6 of part III of Annex B to the Convention.
