In pursuance of the request by the Commission that urban-rural interdependence be taken into consideration in the execution of the work programme of the Centre for the next biennium, given the strong synergy between urban and rural areas, a number of initiatives were carried out to outline the Centre's concern for the need to improve the multiple linkages between urban and rural settlements.
