I should like to inform you that the Government of Senegal proposes to host in Senegal the fourth session of the World Youth Forum of the United Nations System.

A unique feature of the World Youth Forum was the system of co-management set up between representatives of non-governmental youth organizations and of the youth-related organizations and agencies of the United Nations system.

Holding the fourth session of the World Youth Forum of the United Nations System in Africa, then, would be doing a great honour to the youth of Africa and to their struggle for African development with peace.

With that in mind, Portugal will be hosting next year the ninth Ibero-American Conference of Ministers for Youth, the first Conference of Ministers for Youth of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, the World Youth Festival and the third session of the World Youth Forum of the United Nations system, which is being prepared by the Portuguese National Youth Council.

The World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth should address the issue of including youth representatives in national delegations to the General Assembly; and special arrangements should be made to ensure coordination between the Conference and the World Youth Forum so that all participating youth organizations could effectively participate in the follow-up.
فالمؤتمر العالمي للوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب يجب أن يعالج مسألة تضمين ممثلي الشباب في الوفود الوطنية إلى الجمعية العامة، كما يجب اتخاذ إجراءات خاصة لضمان التنسيق بين المؤتمر ومنتدى الشباب العالمي بحيث تستطيع جميع منظمات الشباب المشاركة أن تساهم بصورة فعالة في عملية المتابعة.
