٢ - استعرض الوزراء الاتجاه العالمي في مجال اﻹعلام والاتصال واتفقوا على أن البلدان المتقدمة النمو تستخدم وسائط إعلامها في نشر معلومات كاذبة ومشوهة عن اﻷحداث التي تقع في البلدان النامية.

UNESCO stepped up efforts to promote and strengthen democratic media environment through assisting national authorities seeking to adapt their media legislation and policies to internationally recognized standards.
عززت اليونسكو جهودها في تعزيز وتقوية البيئة الديمقراطية لوسائط الإعلام من خلال مساعدة السلطات الوطنية التي تسعى إلى تكييف تشريعاتها وسياساتها المتعلقة بوسائط الإعلام مع المعايير المعترف بها دوليا.

(e) To aim at, in addition to bilateral cooperation, providing all possible support and assistance to the developing countries and their media, public, private or other, with due regard to their interests and needs in the field of information and to action already adopted within the United Nations system, including:
(هـ) السعي، بالإضافة إلى التعاون الثنائي، إلى تقديم كل ما يمكن من دعم ومساعدة إلى البلدان النامية ووسائط إعلامها التابعة للقطاع العام أو الخاص أو وسائط إعلامها الأخرى، مع المراعاة الواجبة لمصالحها واحتياجاتها في ميدان الإعلام وللإجراءات المعتمدة فعلا في منظومة الأمم المتحدة، ومن بينها:
