The Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, Marta Santos Pais, participated in the Third Arab civil society forum for childhood, organized by the Arab Council for Childhood and Development and held in Cairo in February 2010, where she met with children in an open dialogue.

399. The Third Arab High-Level Conference on the Rights of the Child (Tunis, January 2004) adopted the Second Plan of Action for Children, drafted by the Secretariat-General and approved by the Tunis Summit, as a ten-year plan for the years 2004 to 2015.

The representative of Lebanon presented a paper on behalf of the Third Arab Conference on Geographical Names (E/CONF.98/CRP.29/EN and CRP.29/AR), describing certain proposed changes to the Arabic romanization system known as " Beirut 1972 " which had been approved at a meeting of the Arabic Division in May 2007.

The romanization of Arabic was further examined in Working Paper CRP.1, presented by the Arabic Division, which noted the necessity for stability in a romanized system and described the goal of adopting the unified Arabic romanization system, as agreed at the Third Arab Conference on Geographical Names, in 2007.
