4. In paragraph 8 of the same resolution, the General Assembly invited all Member States, in particular those that had not yet done so, in response to the Secretary-General's note verbale dated 20 January 1999, to communicate to the Secretary-General their views on the agenda and other relevant questions relating to the Conference.
4 - ودعت الجمعية العامة، بموجب الفقرة 8 من نفس القرار، جميع الدول الأعضاء، وخاصة تلك التي لم تقم حتى الآن، استجابة للمذكرة الشفوية للأمين العام المؤرخة 20 كانون الثاني/يناير 1999، بإبلاغ الأمين العام بآرائها بشأن جدول أعمال المؤتمر والمسائل الأخرى المتصلة به، إلى القيام بذلك.

2. In paragraph 3 of its resolution 51/45 D of 10 December 1996, the General Assembly invited Member States to communicate to the Secretary-General their views and proposals for the implementation of the action programme, as well as any other views and proposals with a view to achieving the goals of the action programme.

At that session, the Assembly invited Member States to communicate to the Secretary-General their views and suggestions on verification principles, procedures and techniques for promoting the inclusion of adequate verification in arms limitation and disarmament agreements and on the role of the United Nations in the field of verification (resolution 40/152 O).
وفي تلك الدورة، دعت الجمعية العامة الدول الأعضاء إلى أن تقوم بإبلاغ الأمين العام بآرائها واقتراحاتها بشأن مبادئ التحقق وإجراءاته وتقنياته بغية التشجيع على إدراج أحكام تتعلق بالتحقق الملائم في اتفاقات الحد من الأسلحـــــة ونزع السلاح، وبشأن دور الأمم المتحدة في ميدان التحقق (القرار 40/152 سين).

It is for this reason that the draft resolution requests all States and relevant international organizations to communicate to the Secretary-General their views on the subject.
