In the draft resolution, the General Assembly would call on the States Parties to express their consent to be bound by the Protocol with a view to its entry into force as soon as possible, and it would also commend the Protocol to all States with a view to achieving the widest possible adherence to this instrument.

Welcomes with satisfaction the adoption of the Protocol on Explosive Remnants of War (Protocol V) at the Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention held in Geneva on 27 and 28 November 2003, and calls upon the States parties to express their consent to be bound by the Protocol and to notify the depositary at an early date of their consent;
3 - ترحب مع الارتياح باعتماد البروتوكول المتعلق بالمخلفات الحربية المتفجرة (البروتوكول الخامس)()، فــي اجتماع الدول الأطراف في الاتفاقية المعقود في جنيف يومي 27 و 28 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2003، وتهيب بالدول الأطراف أن تعرب عن موافقتها على الالتزام بالبروتوكول وأن تخطر الوديع بموافقتها في وقت قريب؛
