1. When a casual vacancy occurs in the Committee the SecretaryGeneral shall immediately request the State party whose expert has ceased to function as a member of the Committee to appoint another expert from among its nationals within two months to serve for the remainder of his predecessor's term.
1- عندما يشغر مقعد طارئ في اللجنة، يطلب الأمين العام فورا إلى الدولة الطرف التي يكون خبيرها قد توقف عن أداء مهامه كعضو في اللجنة تعيين خبير آخر من بين مواطنيها في غضون شهرين ليكمل ما تبقى من فترة عضوية سلفه.

If any of the officers of the Committee ceases or declares his inability to function as a member of the Committee or, for any reason, is no longer able to act as an officer, a new officer shall be elected for the unexpired term of his predecessor.
إذا توقف أي عضو من أعضاء اللجنة عن أداء وظائفه كعضو في اللجنة أو إذا أعلن عجزه عن أدائها، أو إذا لم يعد قادرا لأي سبب كان عن العمل كعضو، يُنتخب عضو جديد للفترة غير المنقضية من مدة سلفه.
