At its fifty-third session, the General Assembly, in paragraph 3 of its resolution 53/69 on dissemination of information on decolonization, requested the Department of Public Information to take measures through all the media available, including publications, radio and television, as well as the Internet, to give publicity to the work of the United Nations in the field of decolonization.

At its fifty-second session, the General Assembly, in paragraph 3 of its resolution 52/79 of 10 December 1997 entitled “Dissemination of information on decolonization”, requested the Department of Public Information to give publicity to the work of the United Nations in the field of decolonization.
