3. On 7 April 2011, the Special Rapporteur convened an expert meeting on the right to health of older persons in Geneva.

During the public consultation the Special Rapporteur shared his initial remarks and main observations from the expert meeting, and engaged in an open dialogue with States and other relevant stakeholders on the realization of the right to health of older persons.

The right to health requires that States respect, protect, and fulfil the right to health, and it is incumbent upon States to develop policies and frameworks through which the right to health of older persons can be addressed to meet these requirements.
ويقتضي الحق في الصحة من الدولة احترام وحماية وإنفاذ الحق في الصحة، ومن المحتّم على الدولة أن تضع سياسات وأطراً يمكن عن طريقها التصدّي لمسألة حق المسنين في الصحة بهدف تلبية تلك الاحتياجات.

In the present report, submitted in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 15/22, the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, Anand Grover, considers the realization of the right to health of older persons.

4. On 8 April 2011, the Special Rapporteur held a public consultation on the right to health of older persons in Geneva, which was organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and attended by representatives of nearly 30 States and international organizations.

31. The Special Rapporteur notes the importance of monitoring progress in ensuring progressive realization of the right to health of older persons using indicators and benchmarks as part of the right to health framework.

In its resolution 15/22, the Human Rights Council decided to hold a panel discussion at its eighteenth session on a thematic study to be prepared by the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, with the assistance of OHCHR, on the realization of the right to health of older persons.
67- قرر مجلس حقوق الإنسان، في قراره 15/22، أن يعقد في دورته الثامنة عشرة حلقة نقاش بشأن دراسة مواضيعية يعدها `المقرر الخاص المعني بحق كل إنسان في التمتع بأعلى مستوى ممكن من الصحة البدنية والعقلية`، بمساعدة من المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان، عن إعمال حق المسنين في الصحة.

56. In 2011, the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health prepared a thematic study on the right to health of older persons (A/HRC/18/37).

16. At its 3rd meeting, on 2 August, the Working Group held a panel discussion on the topic " Right to health of older persons " , moderated by Alexandre Kalache (Brazil).

The study, carried out pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 15/22, will be considered by the Council at its eighteenth session, in September 2011.

In its resolution 15/22, the Human Rights Council decided to hold a panel discussion at its eighteenth session on a thematic study to be prepared by the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, with the assistance of OHCHR, on the realization of the right to health of older persons.

2. In February 2011, the Special Rapporteur invited States, relevant United Nations agencies, national human rights institutions and other relevant stakeholders to submit information and comments that would inform him on the main existing challenges and good practices on the realization of the right to health of older persons.

47. The Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health submitted a thematic study to the eighteenth session of the Human Rights Council, focusing on the right to health of older persons (A/HRC/18/37).
47- وقدم المقرر الخاص المعني بحق كل إنسان في التمتع بأعلى مستوى ممكن من الصحة البدنية والعقلية دراسة مواضيعية إلى الدورة الثامنة عشرة لمجلس حقوق الإنسان، ركز فيها على حق المسنين في الصحة (A/HRC/18/37).

45.
