16. I welcome the recent visit to Myanmar by a member of the Secretariat and the fact that he was able to conduct discussions with the Government and with representatives of political parties; and I note the Government’s desire to continue a dialogue with me on issues of concern to the international community, as expressed in successive General Assembly and Commission resolutions.
