At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council, took note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2003/78 of 25 April 2003248 and endorsed the Commission's decision to extend the mandate of the independent expert on the situation of human rights in Somalia for a further year as well as its request to the independent expert to report to the Commission at its sixtieth session.
