Given the high priority that the developing countries attach to training for the staff and members of their competition authorities, options for providing such training should be explored in detail and a report presented to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy.

The representative of China, referring to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten, said that the work carried out by the UNCTAD secretariat over many years in preparing statistics and analyses on the tungsten market had played an important role in helping to increase knowledge in the tungsten industry in many countries.

Paragraph 14 of a resolution adopted by the Third United Nations Conference on Restrictive Business Practices, which was held in Geneva from 13 to 21 November 1995, referred to a recommendation to change the title of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Restrictive Business Practices to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition, Law and Policy.
