The representatives of the permanent members of the Security Council then each made a statement in specific support of the Secretary-General's proposals related to Varosha and Nicosia International Airport and called for prompt acceptance of these proposals.

The members of the Council wish to underline the obligation of both parties to cooperate fully and without further delay with you in reaching promptly an overall framework agreement on the Cyprus problem and, in the first instance, to arrive at an agreement on the proposals related to Varosha and Nicosia International Airport which will create a climate more conducive to engaging in negotiations on the basis of the Set of Ideas.
