A critical and defining aspect of my country's future, and indeed a prospect that will largely define tomorrow's world, is our youth.
يمثل شبابنا أحد الجوانب الهامة والمحددة لمستقبل بلدي، والعنصر الذي سيرسم إلى حد بعيد ملامح عالم الغد.

إذ تعالج هذه الوثيقة كل القضايا الحقيقية، التي كما نعلم جميعا، ستحدد عالم الغد وتؤثر على مصير منظمتنا.

In this context, we feel that the central orientation of the celebrations ought to be towards the future, highlighting the role of the United Nations in tomorrow's world.
وفي هذا السياق، نرى أن التوجه المركزي للاحتفالات يتعين أن يكون صوب المستقبل، والتركيز على دور اﻷمم المتحدة في عالم الغد.

Most people would agree that the changes we have witnessed over the past few months are irreversible and will have great repercussions on tomorrow's world.
ويتفق معظم الناس على أن التغييرات التي شهدناها على مدى الأشهر القليلة الماضية لا يمكن عكسها، وستكون لها تأثيرات كبيرة على عالم الغد.

In terms of education, we need to promote knowledge and respect for others and, in that spirit, to shape the young generations who will be the leaders of tomorrow's world.

وحكومة بلدي، فيما يخصها ستواصل تقديم دعمها التام للقيادة الجديدة في الوكالة، في استجابتها ﻷعبائها الثقيلة ولتحديات عالم الغد.

وفي الختام، يأمل وفدي أن يرى اﻷمم المتحدة لدى دخولها القرن الحادي والعشرين قد هيأت نفسها تماما لمواجهة تحديات عالم الغد.

We must never forget that the peace and the brightness of tomorrow's world depend upon these, our youth, the most precious of our brethren, whom another promised would be greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
ويجب ألا ننسى أن السلام وإشراقة عالم الغد يعتمدان على هؤلاء، أي شبابنا، أغلى أخواننا، الذين وعدوا بأن يكونوا اﻷعظم في ملكوت السماوات.

In the same context, Tunisia welcomes the recommendations of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth, held recently in Lisbon, and stresses the need to ensure that the implementation of the decisions taken at that conference is followed up. This will allow us to deal with the concerns of young people, develop their sense of responsibility and properly prepare them to assume the responsibility of managing tomorrow's world.
وفي هذا السياق نفسه، رحبت تونس بالتوصيات المنبثقة عن الندوة الدولية حول الشباب التي انعقدت مؤخرا في لشبونة، كما أكدت على ضرورة متابعة تنفيذ قراراتها حتى نتمكن جميعا من اﻹحاطة بمشاغل الشباب وتعزيز روح المسؤولية لديهم وتهيئتهم التهيئة السليمة للاضطلاع بمسؤولية تسيير عالم الغد.

Poverty, underdevelopment and the major pandemics must not remain the sole responsibility of the countries affected by these scourges, because for tomorrow's world to be stable it must be united founded on the principles of social justice and the equality of peoples and nations.
ويجب ألا يظل الفقر وتخلف التنمية واﻷمراض الوبائية الخطيرة من مسؤولية البلدان المتضررة من هذه البلايا وحدها، ﻷن عالم الغد لكي ينعم بالاستقرار يجب أن يكون متحدا وقائما على مبادئ العدالة الاجتماعيـــة والمساواة بين الشعوب واﻷمم.

In conclusion, we must recognize that tomorrow's world, which is already here -- the world of the twenty-first century -- is being formed in schools today, as we see children opening their eyes to the new millennium.
وختاما، لا بد أن نعترف بأن عالم الغد الموجود هنا بالفعل - عالم القرن الحادي والعشرين - إنما يجري تشكيله في مدارس اليوم، بينما نرى الأولاد يفتحون أعينهم على الألفية الجديدة.

إن عالم الغد يُبنى اليوم.

The natural resources that the Arab nation possesses, combined with its demographic weight and vitality, the great sweep of its geographic space and its location at the point where three continents meet, and its great cultural heritage, all of these are advantages and assets that it can use to make its voice heard in tomorrow's world, the world that is currently being built in an atmosphere of apprehension and with great difficulty.
إن ما تملكه الأمة العربية من موارد طبيعية، ووزن وحيوية ديمغرافية، وشساعة وموقع جغرافي في ملتقى ثلاث قارات، وما لها من رصيد ثقافي، هي كلها مكسبات ومؤهلات يمكن لها توظيفها لتفرض نفسها في عالم الغد الجاري بناؤه في جو من التوجس وببالغ الصعوبة.
