Moreover, the brutality of the methods of torture used in numerous places around the country, the presence of non-standard items and even equipment specifically designed to inflict torture, and the heavy scarring on victims' bodies observed during medical examinations suggest the widespread use of torture and the impunity with which perpetrators can commit acts such acts.
