A further round of negotiations with the objective of making progress towards a comprehensive political settlement took place in Geneva from 19 to 22 April, on the one hand, as a continuation of previous negotiations and, on the other, in implementation of paragraph 8 of the declaration signed in Moscow on 4 April which established a standing committee to continue energetic efforts to achieve a comprehensive settlement.
