It is very worrying that, as the Secretary-General's report emphasizes, in the face of the current increase in migration flows due to interdependence and globalization, there is a tendency to treat migrants as if they were another commodity, to be managed like merchandise.

11- تدعو الدولَ الأعضاءَ إلى اعتماد تدابير ملموسة لمنع العنف ضد المهاجرين العابرين، وتدريب الموظفين العموميين العاملين في موانئ الدخول وفي المناطق الحدودية على معاملة المهاجرين وأُسرهم باحترام ووفقا للقانون، وعلى ملاحقة منتهكي حقوق المهاجرين وأُسرهم أثناء العبور، بما يتوافق مع القوانين السارية على الصعيدين الوطني والدولي؛

(c) Requests States to adopt concrete measures in order to prevent the violation of the human rights of migrants while in transit, including in ports and airports and at borders and migration checkpoints, and to train public officials who work in those facilities and in border areas to treat migrants and their families respectfully and in accordance with the law;

In paragraph 4 (c) of the resolution, the Assembly also requested States to adopt concrete measures to prevent the violation of the human rights of migrants while in transit, including at ports and airports and at borders and migration checkpoints, and train public officials working in those facilities and in border areas to treat migrants respectfully and in accordance with the law.
