In recognition of the need to consider issues relating to international migration from a broader perspective and to strengthen international cooperation and coordination, representatives of relevant international organizations held the fourth inter-agency meeting on the treatment of persons rescued at sea on 23 June 2008 at United Nations Headquarters to coincide with the ninth meeting of the Consultative Process.
