The information contained in the twenty-ninth report of the Special Committee shows that the situation of human rights in the occupied territories has deteriorated further during the period under review.

The Council reviewed several issues relating to the processing and payment of claims, including the twenty-ninth report of the Executive Secretary pursuant to article 41 of the Provisional Rules for Claims Procedure, and approved corrections to certain category A, C, D and C Palestinian late claims.

The Special Committee has endeavoured, within the constraints imposed on it, to provide in its periodic reports (A/52/131 and A/52/131/Add.1) and in the present twenty-ninth report a clear picture of the situation of human rights in the occupied territories.
