The Strategic Direction paper suggests that setting aside time at UNCITRAL meetings for the sharing of information by States on initiatives they were undertaking to promote UNCITRAL instruments would, inter alia, make States that might be seeking assistance aware of initiatives that they could access for their benefit.

250. Stressing the importance of extrabudgetary funding, the Commission again appealed to all States, international organizations and other interested entities to consider making contributions to the UNCITRAL trust funds to enable its secretariat to meet the increasing demands for training and assistance and to enable delegates from developing countries to attend UNCITRAL meetings.
