101. The General Assembly, in its resolution 64/84, underlined the need for a comprehensive and independent evaluation of the scope, organization, effectiveness and approach of the work of the United Nations in mine action.

The strategy presents the common objectives and commitments that will guide the United Nations in mine action during this period and sees the United Nations focus its resources and priorities in mine action around four major strategic objectives.

25. As part of its programme of work for 2010, the JIU conducted a review of the scope, organization, effectiveness and approach of the work of the United Nations in mine action, as requested by the General Assembly in December 2009.
25 - كجزء من برنامج عملها لعام 2010، أجرت وحدة التفتيش المشتركة استعراضا لنطاق عمل الأمم المتحدة في مجال الإجراءات المتعلقة بالألغام وتنظيمه وفعاليته والنهج المتبع فيه، بناء على طلب الجمعية العامة في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009.

16. In its resolution 64/84, " Assistance in mine action " , the General Assembly identified " the need for a comprehensive and independent evaluation of the scope, organization, effectiveness and approach of the work of the United Nations in mine action " .
16 - وحددت الجمعية العامة في قرارها 64/84، " تقديم المساعدة في الإجراءات المتعلقة بالألغام``، ' ' ضرورة إجراء تقييم شامل ومستقل لنطاق عمل الأمم المتحدة في مجال الإجراءات المتعلقة بالألغام وتنظيمه وفعاليته والنهج المتبع فيه``.

9. Stresses the importance of cooperation and coordination in mine action, and emphasizes the primary responsibility of national authorities in that regard, also stresses the supporting role of the United Nations and other relevant organizations in that regard, and underlines the need for a comprehensive and independent evaluation of the scope, organization, effectiveness and approach of the work of the United Nations in mine action;
9 - تؤكد أهمية التعاون والتنسيق في الإجراءات المتعلقة بالألغام، وتشدد على المسؤولية الرئيسية التي تقع على كاهل السلطات الوطنية في هذا الصدد، وتؤكد أيضا الدور الداعم الذي تؤديه الأمم المتحدة وغيرها من المنظمات المعنية في هذا الصدد، وتشدد على ضرورة إجراء تقييم شامل ومستقل لنطاق عمل الأمم المتحدة في مجال الإجراءات المتعلقة بالألغام وتنظيمه وفعاليته والنهج المتبع فيه؛
