In this context, we urge the United Nations system and its specialized agencies to do all in their power to ensure the rapid and complete implementation of all of the recommendations provided by the Secretary-General in his report to the Security Council which he presented last April.
وفي هذا الصدد فإننا نحث منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة على أن تبذل كل ما في قدرتها لكفالة تنفيذ جميع التوصيات التي قدمها اﻷمين العام في تقريره المقدم إلى مجلس اﻷمن في نيسان/أبريل الماضي تنفيذا سريعا وكاملا.

8. His delegation highly appreciated the work of the organizations of the United Nations system and its specialized agencies in carrying out the recommendations of UNISPACE-82 and activities under the United Nations Space Applications Programme, in particular the holding of workshops, study courses and seminars, which brought great benefits to the developing countries.
٨ - وأعرب عن تقدير وفده العميق للعمل الذي تقوم به منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة لتنفيذ توصيات مؤتمر يونيسبيس - ٨٢ ولﻷنشطة التي تجري في إطار برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للتطبيقات الفضائية، خاصة عقد حلقات العمل، والدورات والحلقات الدراسية، التي حققت فوائد جمة للبلدان النامية.

36. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, the Economic and Social Council must continue to strengthen its role as the central mechanism for coordination of the activities of the United Nations system and its specialized agencies and supervision of subsidiary bodies, in particular its functional commissions, in the economic, social and related fields.
٣٦ - على المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي أن يواصل، وفقا ﻷحكام ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، تدعيم دوره بوصفه اﻵلية المركزية لتنسيق أنشطة منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة واﻹشراف على الهيئات الفرعية، ولا سيما لجانه الفنية، في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما.

٢٥١ - وفقا لﻷحكام ذات الصلة من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة، يجب أن يواصل المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي تعزيز الدور الذي يقوم به بوصفه اﻵلية المركزية للتنسيق على نطاق منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة واﻹشراف على الهيئات الفرعية، ولا سيما لجانه الفنية، في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

١٥٢ - وفقا لﻷحكام ذات الصلة من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة، يجب أن يواصل المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي تعزيز الدور الذي يقوم به بوصفه اﻵلية المركزية للتنسيق على نطاق منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة واﻹشراف على الهيئات الفرعية، ولا سيما لجانه الفنية، في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

ACC adopted a statement on the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (see ACC/1998/4, para. 44), in which it recognized that the implementation of the Yokohama Strategy and Plan of Action, as adopted by the World Conference on Natural Disaster Reduction, provides a platform for the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) and for concerted joint action by the United Nations system and its specialized agencies.
واعتمدت اللجنة بيانا عن العقد الدولي للحد من الكوارث )ACC/1998/4، الفقرة ٤٤( أقرت فيه بأن تنفيذ استراتيجية وخطة عمل يوكوهاما، كما اعتمدت في المؤتمر العالمي للحد من الكوارث، يشكل قاعدة للعقد الدولي للحد من الكوارث وللعمل المشترك المتضافر الذي تقوم به منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة في هذا المجال.
