In section II A, paragraph 8, of the same resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi for consideration at its fifty-seventh session, through the Committee on Conferences.

The present report is submitted in compliance with section II.A, paragraphs 7 and 8, of General Assembly resolution 57/283 B of 15 April 2003 and provides statistical information on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) for the period 2000-2003.

3. As indicated in paragraph 37 of the report, a report on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (A/57/809) was issued in May 2003.

61. The African Group welcomed the efforts being made to improve the utilization of conference facilities as described in the report of the Secretary-General on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (A/57/809).

3. As indicated in paragraph 37 of the report, a report on the utilization of conference facilities and services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi was issued in May 2003.1 That report was a presentation of statistical information and as such contained no recommendations.
3 - وقد أشارت الفقرة 37 من التقرير إلى أن تقريرا عن استخدام مرافق وخدمات المؤتمرات في مكتب الأمم المتحدة في نيروبي صدر في أيار/مايو 2003(1). وجاء ذلك التقرير منصبا على عرض المعلومات الإحصائية وبالتالي لم يورد أية توصيات.

My delegation appreciates the measures undertaken by the Secretary-General to improve and strengthen the capacity and utilization of conference facilities and services at Nairobi, which have, so far, yielded positive results.
