14. In areas with large concentrations of persons belonging to various minorities amateur artistic groups are active in clubs, national and State theatres, fancier associations and clubs catering to specific interests.

24. The Committee regrets that it has not received adequate information on the impact of federal and regional measures taken with regard to enjoyment of cultural rights by the various minorities residing in its territory (art. 15).

2.3 The Supreme Court has held, however, in the case of Bhewa v. Government of Mauritius (1990) MR 7 (see Annex XV) that the relevant provisions of the Constitution do not warrant the enactment of personal laws for the various minorities of the country.
