In article 24 of the Model Law, there is a mandatory provision on participation of victims in the criminal justice system:

Since the prominent role assigned to the participation of victims in the criminal justice system created by the Rome Statute was an important development in international criminal law, it was gratifying that the Assembly had elected eminent persons of international standing to play a pioneering advisory role in that regard.

269. The British Government has also invested in support and protection for victims in the criminal justice system and in bringing more offenders to justice including through:

The Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, in paragraph (m) of its decision 4/4, entitled " Trafficking in human beings " , requested the Secretariat to make available to Member States information on successful practices and measures in relation to victim support, witness protection and the facilitation of the participation of victims in the criminal justice system.
1- طلب مؤتمر الأطراف في اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية إلى الأمانة، في الفقرة (م) من مقرره 4/4 المعنون " الاتجار بالبشر " ، أن تتيح للدول الأعضاء معلومات عن الممارسات والتدابير الناجحة فيما يتعلق بدعم الضحايا وحماية الشهود وتيسير مشاركة الضحايا في نظام العدالة الجنائية.
