102- وقد حدثت نقطة تحول هام نتيجة اعتماد الاستراتيجية في الدورة الثامنة لمؤتمر الأطراف التي اتُخذت فيها مقررات هامة بهدف تمهيد السبيل لإعادة صياغة الدور المنوط بلجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا في الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف، وبخاصة المقرر 13/م أ-8، الذي يشجِّع على إنشاء اتحادات علمية للعمل بالاشتراك مع لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا.

134. With regard to the duration of the meetings of the CRIC, Parties direct that the cost-effectiveness of CRIC meetings should be ensured and recommend convening intersessional sessions of the CRIC of a duration ranging from five to 10 working days, in accordance with the nature of the review (review of operational objectives and/or strategic objectives), as well as the convening of joint sessions with the CST.
134- وفيما يتعلق بمدة اجتماعات لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية، توعز الأطراف بضمان فعالية كلفة هذه الاجتماعات، وتوصي بتحديد فترة انعقاد دورات لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية التي تعقد بين دورات مؤتمر الأطراف في مدة تتراوح بين 5 و10 أيام عمل، حسب طبيعة الاستعراض (استعراض الأهداف التنفيذية و/أو الأهداف الاستراتيجية)، وبعقد دورات مشتركة مع لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا.
