In the past period, among others, the following laws were harmonised with the Law on Gender Equality: Law on Voluntary Pension Funds and Pension Plans, Law on Civil Servants, Law on Pension Reserve Fund of Republika Srpska, Law on Volunteering and Law on Amendments to the Law on Incentive for Small-sized and Medium-sized Enterprises.

In the report, it is indicated that initiatives to amend the Election Law to bring it in line with the Law on Gender Equality have been rejected (para. 151), while research conducted in 2009 has shown that the existing open electoral list system, combined with quotas for such lists, is not satisfactory in terms of increasing women representation in political and public life (para. 162).

In August 2009 the Government of the Federation of BiH has supported initiative of the Gender Centre of the Federation of BiH to urgently harmonise entity legislation regulating issues of election and appointment of persons to most responsible positions, as well as regarding membership in steering committees and supervisory boards, with the Law on Gender Equality in BiH, however the procedure is still ongoing.
