In view of this ongoing situation, I have extended the mandate of my Special Envoy for the Humanitarian Crisis in the Horn of Africa, Martti Ahtisaari, for another six months to enable him to continue to work with the two Governments, the donor community, the United Nations country teams and other stakeholders to identify longer-term solutions to the humanitarian challenges.
