The second working group, on the subject " Symposium on drought monitoring " , focused on drought monitoring in the Sudan, a pilot country working with UN-SPIDER and the National Disaster Reduction Centre of China (NDRCC) to develop drought monitoring methods and approaches to using space-based information.
28- وركَّز الفريق العامل الثاني، المعني بموضوع " ندوة حول رصد الجفاف " ، على رصد الجفاف في السودان، وهو بلد يتعاون تجريبيًّا مع برنامج سبايدر والمركز الوطني الصيني للحدِّ من الكوارث من أجل استحداث طرائق ونهوج لاستخدام المعلومات الفضائية في رصد الجفاف.

Member States, UN-SPIDER, regional support offices of UN-SPIDER, United Nations entities and related international and regional organizations took up several elements from the Conference for the development of their 2014 workplans and are planning specific events with UN-SPIDER.
٥٣- واختارت الدول الأعضاء وبرنامج سبايدر ومكاتب الدعم الإقليمية التابعة لبرنامج سبايدر وكيانات الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية والإقليمية ذات الصلة، عدَّة عناصر من المؤتمر للبناء عليها في وضع خطط عملها لعام 2014، كما أنها تعمل على التخطيط لتنظيم مناسبات محدَّدة مع برنامج سبايدر.

Participants were provided with information on how they could access rapid mapping services through cooperation with UN-SPIDER and partners like DigitalGlobe and the National Disaster Reduction Centre of China, as well as international mechanisms such as the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters.
36- وزُوِّد المشاركون بمعلومات عن كيفية وصولهم إلى الخدمات السريعة لرسم الخرائط من خلال التعاون مع برنامج سبايدر والشركاء، مثل شركة ديجيتال غلوب والمركز الوطني الصيني للحدّ من الكوارث، والآليات الدولية مثل الميثاق الدولي بشأن الفضاء والكوارث الكبرى.

The network of regional support offices should be able to contribute to any of the activities included in the UN-SPIDER workplan by taking on the responsibility for funding and for implementing specific activities, jointly and in coordination with UN-SPIDER.

(d) Enhance cooperation with UN-SPIDER: NDCC, the focal point for UN-SPIDER, should work closely with UN-SPIDER, which has expressed its willingness to assist NDCC and offer technical advice to establish a mechanism in the country for effective use of space-based information for disaster management.

The first working group, on the subject " Engaging with UN-SPIDER " , was attended by 27 participants representing countries where UN-SPIDER had conducted technical advisory missions in recent years, UN-SPIDER regional support offices, partner organizations and experts who had participated in UN-SPIDER technical advisory missions in various countries.
